Helmer's Organic Farm Family owned and operated farm located in the Pemberton Valley. They have farmed organically since clearing the land and making fields in 1980 and are the fourth generation of this family to farm in the Pemberton Valley. They are known as growers of spectacular tasting potatoes and have up to 18 varieties that have been chosen for their own specific taste and cooking characteristic.

Craig LeHoullier has been know as the NC Tomatoman. He is the one who named the Cherokee Purple Tomato in 1990. He is the author of the books Epic Tomatoes and Growing Vegetables in Straw Bales. He is also the co-leader of the Dwarf Tomato Breeding Project. His website is full of information about growing tomatoes. Several interviews with him can be found on the Joe Gardener podcast.
